NCAA Baseball Bat
BESR Certification Test Request Form

  • Bat registrations are made using the web form given below.

  • The UMLBRC will make every effort to test bats in a timely manner.  However, circumstances with respect to machine operation and the number of bats in the queue may result in delays.

  • NCAA BESR Certification does not imply Major League Baseball Rookie/Short-Season certification.  Major League Baseball Rookie/Short-Season certification is an independent test process.

To initiate the certification process for all baseball bats that are constructed with materials other than one-piece solid wood, an interested bat manufacturer must send the NCAA written notice of its intent to conduct certification testing on specific models it deems appropriate for testing. The notice to conduct testing must contain:

A detailed description of all models to be used in NCAA competition

This detailed description will be sent to the NCAA by completing this online form.

Indemnification
By registering a bat, the registering party agrees to indemnify the NCAA and the University of Massachusetts for any liability, damage, loss, or expense (reasonable attorneys fees and expenses of litigation) incurred by or imposed upon any of the NCAA or the University of Massachusetts in connection with any claims, suits, actions, demands or judgments arising out of any theory of liability (including without limitation actions in the form of tort, warranty, or strict liability and regardless of whether the action has any factual basis) concerning or related to any bat that is tested pursuant to the NCAA Protocol.  Under no circumstances is the University or its trustees, officers, faculty, students, employees, agents and their respective successors, heirs, and assigns liable for any special, consequential, incidental, exemplary, punitive, or other direct or indirect damages arising out of or related to the certification testing.
